Job Description
Senior Estimator to join our Construction team in Essex. You will play a key role in supporting the development of successful, profitable tenders. This role requires collaboration with clients, suppliers, and consultants, and offers an opportunity to develop leadership skills within a forward‑thinking organisation.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and estimate costs for tenders, identifying opportunities to minimise risk and maximise profit.
- Lead and mentor the estimating team, promoting best practice and collaborative working.
- Negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors to secure competitive pricing while maintaining quality standards.
- Collaborate with design, planning, commercial, and bid management teams throughout the tender process.
- Support the handover of projects to delivery teams, ensuring smooth transition and clear communication.
Qualifications
- Experience working with a Main Contractor or Tier 1 Contractor company.
- Proficiency in Excel, estimating software, and take‑off tools such as Bluebeam.
- Demonstrated leadership experience within a pre‑construction team.
- Experience supporting and developing junior team members.
- Conscientious, detail‑oriented approach and strong problem‑solving skills.
- Transferrable skills are welcome – not all boxes need to be ticked.
