Sizewell C’s business is to design, finance, construct, commission, operate, maintain, and eventually decommission the nuclear power plant and related infrastructure at Sizewell C in Suffolk. Overall, whilst the Company is in the construction phase, the Boards’ principal focus is on the development and construction of Sizewell C on time, on budget and to the highest quality and safety standards. The Company is maturing to meet all these requirements. Sizewell C is economically regulated by OFGEM under the RAB model similar to other UK electricity distribution networks and Thames Tideway. Sizewell C construction strategy is to replicate the design of Hinkley Point C, using the majority of the same supply chain, but innovating in the way it is delivered to achieve savings in time and cost of around 20%. The CCO will need to be guided by and incorporate lessons learned from the Hinkley Point C commercial delivery to achieve Sizewell C’s ambition. Following Financial Completion and Revenue Commencement, Sizewell C is fully funded and is owned by; the Secretary of State for Energy Security and Net Zero representing HM Government, La Caisse, Centrica, EDF and Amber Infrastructure.

Senior Project Manager / Project Manager

Sizewell C | Suffolk / London / Hybrid Opportunities

Be part of one of the most ambitious infrastructure programmes in Europe. Sizewell C is now firmly into delivery following Final Investment Decision, marking a major milestone in the UK’s energy future. This is a rare opportunity to join a nationally significant project that will provide secure, low‑carbon electricity to around 6 million homes for generations to come.

We are looking for experienced Senior Project Managers and Project Managers to lead the end‑to‑end delivery of major Systems, Structures and Components (SSCs) across the Sizewell C programme, managing complex Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Commissioning (EPCC) scopes in a highly regulated, technically demanding environment. These are high‑profile leadership roles where you will drive delivery across large‑scale nuclear infrastructure packages valued between £100m and £500m, working alongside world‑class engineering, construction and supply chain teams. Whether your background is within nuclear, defence, rail, aviation, energy, oil & gas or other major infrastructure sectors, this is your opportunity to shape a project that will define careers.

The Opportunity

Reporting into the Programme Manager or Programme Director, you will take ownership for the safe, high‑quality and efficient delivery of complex project scopes throughout the full project lifecycle. You’ll lead multidisciplinary delivery teams, oversee major contracts and interfaces, and work closely with senior stakeholders, suppliers, alliance partners and technical specialists to ensure delivery against cost, schedule, quality and safety commitments.

Depending on your experience and interests, opportunities exist across:

  • Mechanical, Electrical & HVAC (MEH) – Supporting the development and delivery of the MEH Alliance model, working closely with partners and applying lessons learned from Hinkley Point C to establish robust delivery strategies for Sizewell C.
  • Nuclear Island (NI) – Leading delivery across critical systems, buildings and contracts forming part of the Nuclear Island programme, within one of the most technically complex environments in UK infrastructure.
  • Civil Works – Driving delivery strategies for major civil construction scopes, overseeing engineering, procurement, manufacturing, construction and commissioning activities across significant work packages.
  • Conventional Island & Balance of Plant (CI/BOP) – Managing engineering and delivery contracts across conventional generation systems and associated infrastructure, ensuring safe and efficient execution from design through to commissioning.

What You’ll Be Doing

Leading the delivery of major contracts and work packages across the project lifecycle

Managing multidisciplinary project teams and matrix delivery organisations

Developing and implementing execution strategies aligned to the Programme Execution Plan

Driving delivery against safety, quality, schedule and cost objectives

Managing interfaces across engineering, procurement, manufacturing, construction and commissioning teams

Leading risk, change, commercial and stakeholder management activities

Monitoring project performance using Earned Value Management (EVM) principles

Overseeing contractor performance, payment applications and commercial obligations

Identifying and resolving complex project issues in a fast‑moving environment

Building strong relationships across the programme, supply chain and external stakeholders

Driving continuous improvement, lessons learned and knowledge capture across the project

Senior Project Managers will additionally lead large groups of Project Managers and oversee significant integrated delivery teams across major programme areas.
