We are looking for an experienced and proactive Data Protection Manager to join our Manchester office. This is a key role responsible for overseeing and enhancing our data protection framework, ensuring compliance with UK GDPR and wider regulatory requirements, and promoting a strong culture of data privacy across the firm.
You will act as a subject matter expert, working closely with senior stakeholders, legal teams, IT, and risk functions to manage data protection risks and support business operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead on data protection compliance across the firm, ensuring adherence to UK GDPR and related legislation
- Act as the main point of contact for data protection queries and incidents
- Oversee and manage data breaches, including investigation, reporting, and mitigation
- Maintain and develop policies, procedures, and data protection frameworks
- Conduct Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) and risk assessments
- Deliver training and guidance to staff to improve awareness and compliance
- Liaise with regulators where required, including the ICO
- Monitor regulatory developments and advise the business on changes
About You
- Proven experience in a data protection or privacy-focused role
- Strong working knowledge of UK GDPR and data protection laws
- Experience managing data breaches and regulatory reporting
- Confident communicator with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail
