Software Engineer (Object‑Oriented Programming)

Location: Lancaster, Lancashire

Role

Building and integrating computer vision algorithms; integrating sensors and IoT devices; supporting junior and graduate team members; autonomous leadership of complex projects; flexible working with home Fridays.

Responsibilities

• Develop computer vision algorithms from scratch for defense sector applications.
• Integrate sensors and IoT devices into system solutions.
• Support and mentor junior/graduate engineering staff.
• Lead complex projects with significant decision‑making authority.
• Collaborate across mechanical, hardware, electronics, and product teams.

Qualifications

• Software Engineer with background in Object‑Oriented Programming.
• Proficiency in Python, TypeScript, Vue, C++ (or related language).
• Experience in developing complex software; experience with computer vision and IoT desirable.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.

Location

Right on the doorstep of the Lake District and Yorkshire Dales.
