Legal Counsel – Infrastructure | London (3 Days/Week, 12-Month FTC)
Are you a finance lawyer in private practice considering your first in-house move, or already in-house and looking to broaden your exposure to international deals?
This is a rare opportunity for a finance lawyer, ideally with experience in infrastructure or energy finance, to join a globally recognised financial institution on a part-time basis (3 days per week) for a 12-month fixed-term contract.
The role is particularly well-suited to those looking for a better work/life balance or personal commitments, while gaining hands‑on experience on high‑profile international transactions.
You will work directly with the Infrastructure Finance team, supporting complex cross‑border transactions and partnering with the business on legal, regulatory, and product initiatives, including green and sustainable finance objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the structuring, review, and negotiation of cross-border export finance, infrastructure, and project finance transactions, working closely with deal teams from early origination through to completion.
- Provide commercial legal guidance on both existing and new financing arrangements, including more complex or challenging scenarios.
- Offer insight into export credit and multilateral agency products and funding structures to support deal execution.
- Assist with identifying, escalating, and resolving legal, regulatory, or reputational matters across the business.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including senior management, front‑office teams, compliance, ESG, tax, and colleagues across global offices.
What We’re Looking For
- England & Wales qualified lawyer, ideally trained at a recognised law firm or financial institution.
- Experience in project finance, infrastructure finance, or export credit (happy to consider those from other area of finance such as asset/aviation finance)
- Strong commercial awareness alongside technical legal expertise.
- Comfortable working in a fast‑paced, international transactional environment.
