Job responsibilities
- Lead on complex and sensitive Medical HR matters, including MHPS cases, job planning disputes, grievances and other ER activity.
- Act as a trusted advisor to senior medical leaders and clinical managers.
- Manage investigations, hearings and appeals, ensuring compliance with NHS terms and conditions, employment law and Trust policy.
- Provide expert interpretation of consultant contracts, medical TCS, job planning frameworks and national guidance.
- Promote a fair, inclusive and just culture across medical workforce processes.
- Support HR digital transformation, champion HR systems and use data and analytics to drive improvement.
- Contribute to policy development, training for medical leaders and continuous improvement across the Medical Hub.
- Supervise and coach Medical HR Advisors, supporting their development.
- Represent Medical HR in meetings, governance forums and employment tribunals when required.
Qualifications
- Experience of Medical HR, ER casework or HR advisory roles.
- Understanding of medical terms and conditions (desirable).
- Confidence managing sensitive and complex issues.
- Effective communication, influencing and coaching skills.
- A strong commitment to fairness, inclusion and high quality HR practice.
- A proactive, solutions‑focused approach.
