The Role
As a Multi Skilled Building Services Engineer, you will play a key role in maintaining and supporting critical infrastructure that underpins essential defence operations.
Responsibilities
- Provide maintenance support including installation, planned, preventive and corrective maintenance across site services, plant and buildings
- Deliver specialist technical maintenance support on building plant and equipment
- Prioritise work schedules to meet operational and business requirements; support and participate in the on‑call rota within the maintenance team
- Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental procedures and standards
- Oversee contractors onsite and monitor performance against SLAs
Essential Experience
- Proven experience as an M&E or building services maintenance engineer
- Strong fault finding and diagnostic skills across electrical systems
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team
- Experience managing or working alongside contractors and external suppliers
- Good understanding of health and safety regulations and safe systems of work
Essential Qualifications
- BS7671 18th Edition Wiring Regulations
- City & Guilds 2391 Inspection and Testing or equivalent
- NVQ Level 3 / ONC / OND / BTEC Level 3 in Electrical Engineering
- Full UK driving licence (essential)
All applicants must be eligible for SC clearance.
Working Hours and Travel
This role is 37 hours per week with a minimum average site attendance of three days per week. Standard working times are 07:30 – 16:15 Monday to Thursday, with variations for Fridays. Travel to other QinetiQ and customer sites will be required. Shift patterns may include participation in an on‑call rota and weekend working.
