Overview
Quality Technician with understanding of aerospace part qualification, inspection techniques, and decision making. The role develops into a quality delegate capable of developing procedures and supporting AS9100/9120 certification.
Salary
£15,392 for the first year, with potential increase after completion of the apprenticeship.
Working Hours
Monday to Friday, 08:00–16:30 (37 hours per week).
Location
Unit 12B, Two Locks, Hurst Business Park, Brierley Hill, DY5 1UU.
Training
Apprenticeship: Engineering Manufacturing Technician level 4 (Dudley College of Technology). Duration: 3 years 6 months, starting 1 September 2026. Includes on‑site training at the company and formal study at the college. Upon successful completion, you will receive an Engineering Manufacturing Technician HNC Level 4 – Mechanical qualification.
What You'll Do
- Assist with inspection, testing, and documentation across the lifecycle of aerospace components.
- Conduct dimensional checks, review technical specifications, and verify materials and assemblies meet stringent aerospace standards.
- Participate in root‑cause analysis, non‑conformance investigations, and continuous improvement activities.
- Maintain accurate quality records, support procedure updates and audits, and ensure compliance with Apollo's quality management system and industry regulations.
Responsibilities
- Follow and support the delivery of high reliability aerospace components.
- Use problem‑solving tools such as RCA, PFMEA, Fishbone, PPS, and APQP.
- Apply lean tools like Six Sigma, 5S, Kaizen, and poka‑yoke.
- Control documentation processes and quality compliance procedures.
Requirements
- GCSE in English (grade C/4/Level 2 Functional Skills) or equivalent.
- Relevant qualifications and industry experience will be considered.
Skills
- Methodical.
- Willing to learn.
