Battery Test Engineer

Battery Test Engineer, £25-£30 per hour

12‑month contract role, up to £30.00 per hour (Inside IR35 basis).

Commutable from Coventry, Hinckley, Leicester, Birmingham, Rugby and surrounding areas.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a technical point of contact for customers and internal engineering teams, offering guidance and technical advice on all aspects of battery abuse testing.
• Support the planning, set‑up, and execution of battery testing.
• Review and approve all test set‑ups prior to them starting.
• Ensure test data is captured, reviewed, and validated.
• Maintain all supporting test documentation, including Work Instructions and Risk Assessments.

Qualifications

• Strong technical background in engineering or testing (battery or automotive testing experience desirable).
• Clear communicator who can confidently liaise with both customers and technical teams.
• Detail‑oriented with a focus on data quality, safety, and compliance.
• Degree qualified in an automotive engineering or similar mechanical or electrical engineering discipline.
• A full UK driving licence is essential.
