The Opportunity
We’re looking for a Planner or Senior Planner to join our team at Walter Thompson Contractors.
Based in our Northallerton head office, you’ll play a key role in planning and delivering a wide range of construction projects across sectors including residential, commercial, healthcare and education, typically ranging in value from £500k to £15m.

What You’ll Be Doing
- Producing and managing construction programmes from tender through to completion.
- Working closely with contracts managers, site teams and commercial teams.
- Monitoring progress and identifying risks and opportunities.
- Supporting tender submissions with programmes and methodology.
- Preparing short-term programmes and progress updates.
- Engaging with clients, consultants and subcontractors.
What We’re Looking For
- Experience in a planning role within a main contractor.
- Strong understanding of construction sequencing and delivery.
- Experience with planning software (Asta Powerproject preferred).
- Good communication skills and a proactive, solutions-focused approach.
- Ability to influence programme strategy and support project teams.
