Consultant Neurologist – with interest in MND
The closing date is 27 May 2026
We are delighted to offer an opportunity for a motivated, ambitious individual to join our well-integrated team. This substantive, full‑time post is ideal for someone at the start or mid-point of their consultant career. Roughly half the clinical work will be general neurology, contributing to the acute service and outpatients service, and half to the subspecialty motor neurone disease service. We are already a research active centre, with commercial and investigator‑led trials. Funding has been secured for one day a week through the Doddy Weir Foundation for the first three years to facilitate the successful candidate in developing and contributing to clinical trials and academic research activity, which will hopefully be self‑funding from that point on. Should this not be the case, we guarantee the option of a full‑time NHS clinical job. While advertised as full‑time, we would be happy to consider less than full‑time working or a compressed job plan.
Main duties of the job

The medical team is supported by a nurse specialist, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, and dedicated admin support. This service has been a single‑handed practice to date, but we are moving towards involvement of a larger local and regional team.
