About The Role

We have an exciting opportunity to join us as a Consultant Gynaecological‑Oncologist. This new position is based primarily in Southend Hospital and will be part of the Specialist Gynaecological Oncology team under Mr K Razvi and Miss F Toneva. The role involves developing surgical expertise and participating in joint operating as required.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical input and leadership to the Gynaecological Oncology specialist MDT at Southend Hospital and Basildon Hospital.
• Work as a key member of the Gynaecological Oncology Consultant team and the multi‑disciplinary team at Basildon and Southend.
• Build on the established pathways between both sites to optimise patient pathways and support further development of the Network.
• Support the established training programme in gynaecological oncology for ATSM trainees and other fellows.
• Provide support to the colposcopy service at Southend University Hospital.
• Collaborate in clinical studies and publications.
• Take a leadership role in ensuring that the local National Surgical Safety Checklist (NSSG) between Southend and Basildon Hospitals is compliant with Peer Review.
• Be responsible, along with current staff, for providing a gynaecological oncology service across the Mid & South Essex NHS Hospitals Group. Perform complex gynaecological oncology surgery at Southend University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and be supported by the gynaecological oncology team and one gynaecologist with special interest in the sub‑specialty.

Qualifications

• Successfully completed sub‑speciality training in Gynaecological Oncology.
• Special interest in the field of gynaecological oncology is welcomed; further establishment of audit processes would be useful.
