1 Fixed Term Contract / Secondment post for 12 months is available — This post is in the PASAG Team. As per the Fixed Term Contracts Policy, individuals with continuous service within the NHS applying for fixed‑term contract roles may be refused by PSD Scotland.

On 1 April 2026, NHS National Services Scotland (NSS) and NHS Education for Scotland (NES) became one national organisation, focused on continuity today and a stronger, more connected service for tomorrow.

As part of this transformation, NSS and NES joined to form Public Services Delivery Scotland (PSD Scotland). The new organisation will play a pivotal role in supporting the renewal and ensuring the long‑term sustainability of health and care services across Scotland.

About the Organisation

PSD Scotland unites expertise from NES and NSS to accelerate national programmes and support the NHS to deliver better care, now and in the future.

We support staff with education and training, provide the tools and data that improve services, and run vital national functions such as procurement, logistics and blood, tissue and cell services.

The Post

Medicines Strategic Sourcing Team Posts

As a knowledgeable and experienced strategic procurement professional, you will manage a portfolio of commodities, implement national procurement strategies, and maintain supplier relationships to secure best value contracts. You will provide customers with excellent product choice and quality, contributing to the strategic sourcing programme targets.

PASAG Post

You will coordinate the day‑to‑day management of the Patient Access Scheme Assessment Group (PASAG) Secretariat and partner with pharmaceutical companies to negotiate medicines pricing arrangements on behalf of health boards in NHS Scotland. You will support identification of sourcing opportunities and develop procurement strategies that optimise value and benefits from new medicines, and help shape operational processes and policies relating to procurement, purchasing and supply of medicines.

The Candidate

We are looking for highly motivated, commercially aware individuals who can plan strategically, solve problems, organise effectively, influence teams, and work with attention to detail in multidisciplinary settings.

The post holder should have a degree in a relevant business discipline and be or be working toward Membership of The Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (MCIPS) or an equivalent qualification. Demonstrable experience of strategic sourcing—strategy development and supplier management—is essential. Excellent communication and influencing skills are also required.
