Salary: £33,643 to £36,938 per annum. Plus generous benefits, including:

About the role

As Learning Support Team Leader, you will work alongside three other Team Leaders to lead and coordinate a team of Learning Support Practitioners to ensure learners with SEND receive effective, high‑quality additional learning support across the College.

You will oversee the day‑to‑day deployment of support staff within available resources, act as the main point of contact for SEND matters within your designated curriculum area(s), and work closely with curriculum teams, parents/carers and external professionals to ensure a coordinated, person‑centred approach.

The role includes contributing to EHCP processes and annual reviews, supporting the preparation of exam access arrangements in line with JCQ requirements, maintaining accurate learner records, and providing direct in‑class support for a proportion of the week to promote independence, progression and positive learner outcomes.

About the Person

You will be an experienced SEND professional with a strong understanding of inclusive practice and the SEND Code of Practice, ideally gained within an educational setting. You will have experience of supporting vulnerable learners, contributing to EHCP‑related processes, and working collaboratively with a range of internal and external stakeholders. Experience of supervising or managing staff is advantageous.

You will be highly organised, an effective communicator and confident managing complex caseloads, with the ability to build positive relationships with learners, families and colleagues.

You will hold Level 2 literacy and numeracy (or equivalent) and a relevant qualification in learning support, SEND or teaching is desirable, you will be able to demonstrate a clear commitment to safeguarding, equality, diversity and ongoing professional development.

Candidates may offer skills and experiences suitable for a proportion of role or the total 37 hours per week.
