Associate Director of Procurement – Collaboration
Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust is seeking an ambitious, strategic and collaborative Associate Director of Procurement Collaboration to help shape and deliver the future of procurement across West Yorkshire. Working alongside the Director of Commercial & Procurement, you will play a pivotal leadership role in aligning procurement functions across multiple NHS Trusts, establishing the West Yorkshire Provider Procurement Collaborative (WYPPC) as a sector‑leading collaborative, and delivering major efficiencies, savings and service improvements in an increasingly challenging financial environment. You will lead complex regional sourcing strategies covering non‑pay spend in excess of £1bn per annum, including capital programmes, major service contracts and innovative commercial solutions. This role combines strategic leadership, change management, commercial expertise and system‑wide collaboration, and includes deputising for the Director of Commercial & Procurement where required.
Main Duties
You will be a senior procurement professional with substantial NHS experience, a proven track record of leading complex programmes, and the credibility to influence at a collaborative level.
You will bring:
- Strong leadership and people‑management capability
- Experience of delivering large‑scale savings and transformation across multiple organisations
- Exceptional negotiation, communication and stakeholder‑management skills

Qualifications
- Post‑graduate qualification to Master level in business‑associated discipline or industry equivalent
Experience
- In‑depth knowledge and expertise of NHS processes, acquired by formal qualification or relevant knowledge and experience
- Understanding of NHS working practices from national to local level
- Ability to work within Trust policies and procedures and the appropriate contract and procurement legislation
- Strong knowledge of procurement contract law and UK procurement legislation
