Laboratory Quality Coordinator – Maryview Medical Center
The Laboratory Quality Coordinator works as part of the Laboratory team to improve the quality, safety, accuracy, and efficiency of the lab. The Laboratory Quality Coordinator manages all aspects of the quality management plan, including collaboration on policies and procedures on quality control, quality assurance, proficiency testing, and laboratory accreditation.
Essential Functions
- Develops and implements overall laboratory quality management plans for each section.
- Reviews and approves daily, weekly, and monthly quality control data.
- Evaluates and establishes quality control and assay performance limits.
- Designs, develops, and implements education and training programs to support adherence to the quality management plan.
- Reviews and standardizes quality and regulatory procedures between testing facilities per market.
- Ensures all quality management standards, documentation, and compliance are met for accreditation checklist requirements.
- Other duties as assigned.
Licensing/Certification
MLS Medical Lab Scientist Certification or MLT Medical Lab Technologist by a nationally recognized certification agency (preferably ASCP) (required).
Education
- Associates in Medical Laboratory Science/Biology/Microbiology/Education (required).
- Bachelors in Medical Laboratory Science/Biology/Microbiology/Education (preferred).
- Masters in Education (preferred).
Work Experience
4 years' experience in a high‑complexity testing position (required).
Skills & Abilities
- Encourages other lab personnel to work toward professional growth and development by sharing information.
- Ability to work independently within a team and strong attention to detail.
- Ability to provide quality, error‑free work in a fast‑paced environment.
- Engages with staff and patients in a professional manner.
