Public Transport Planner (Integrated Public Transport)
Location: Hybrid with regular travel to Huntingdon
This is a Permanent, Full Time vacancy.
Overview
Want to help redesign how publicly funded transport works across health, education and local government – and make it simpler and joined‑up for passengers? We’re looking for a Public Transport Planner (Integrated Public Transport) to lead the development and embedding of a joined‑up transport approach across the region. This role focuses on integration: connecting services that are often planned separately, reducing duplication, and improving outcomes for the people who rely on them most.
Responsibilities
- Lead programmes to design, test and embed integrated transport models across the region.
- Map and analyse commissioned transport services (including health, social care and education) to identify opportunities for alignment and optimisation.
- Work closely with local authorities, NHS partners, operators and service providers to build consensus and deliver change.
- Manage budgets and funding pots, ensuring programmes are delivered on time and within agreed constraints.
Qualifications
You’ll bring experience of improving customer outcomes in a public transport or regulated environment, with strong analytical skills and confidence working across complex stakeholder landscapes. You’ll be comfortable navigating political, contractual and partnership settings, and motivated by making systems work better for passengers.
Benefits
- Flexible Working
- Work‑Life Balance
- Learning & Development
Equal Employment Opportunity
We are a Disability Confident Employer and proud supporters of the Care Leavers Covenant and Armed Forces Covenant.
