Senior Assessment Manager, Mathematics

Salary: £45,100 – £60,400 per annum

Location: Cambridge, Hybrid

Contract: Full-time, fixed-term until 31st July 2028

About the role

In this valued role, you will give expert assessment-related recommendations to support colleagues in the wider organisation, providing subject and assessment specific technical advice where needed. When not creating and signing off exams, you will work on grading, setting the thresholds that our learners are held to. With Mathematics being a key subject, recognised globally as a fundamental skill, you will be an incredibly important member of our Cambridge International team.

  • Signing off the exams that our students sit every single series.
  • From working with Development colleagues to managing the design of our syllabuses, you will manage the complete lifecycle of a portfolio of syllabuses.
  • Oversee the production of all assessment materials associated with the syllabuses to ensure their successful delivery for learners.
  • Ensuring the exams are comparable from series-to-series, year-to-year, and fair to candidates from different countries and backgrounds, you will be integral in shaping the future of Mathematics at Cambridge, and around the world.
  • Managing the recruitment of our Assessment Specialists, including Setters, Revisers, Vetters, and Assistant Examiners, you will manage their allocation of work, performance and succession planning.
  • Working closely with our ministry customers around the world you will collaborate with them to develop and revise our syllabuses.

About you

We are looking for you to have a degree in Mathematics, or a very closely related subject. Your standard of English will be very high, and knowledge of assessments in an education setting is very key here. You will have spent some time in the classroom as a Teacher, and may even have a knowledge of international education.

  • Any post-graduate qualifications in educational assessment, project management, or experience in examination would make you incredibly successful in this role.
  • An interest and flexibility to work in other subjects within the team, including Information Technology and Computer Science, would also be advantageous.
