Transport Purchasing Coordinator
We are recruiting for an experienced and forward‑thinking Transport Purchasing Coordinator. This is a full‑time, permanent, office‑based position with a scope for progression at our client in Erith, Kent.
Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance of the vehicle fleet.
- Report to the Group Transport Manager.
- Interact with suppliers and company drivers.
- Keep the Fleet Management System (FMS) fully up to date with all paperwork.
- Book vehicles in for PMI’s, service and repairs within the legal timescales.
- Collect and record information from drivers and suppliers as required.
- Ensure each driver and vehicle has the required equipment and PPE, performing checks as needed.
- Order equipment and PPE for both drivers and vehicles.
- Purchase all road tax for each vehicle.
- Monitor and purchase fuel.
- Allocate and load fuel to drivers and trucks.
- Organise inductions at terminals.
- Monitor fuel levels in depots and arrange deliveries.
- Assist in all areas of transport.
Skills & Qualifications
- Good knowledge of computer programs.
- Good communication skills.
- Experience with commercial computer programs.
- Good general computer skills.
- Desire to learn.
- Meticulous and methodical approach.
- Ability to work on own initiative with minimal supervision.
Special Requirements
- Must have own transport due to location on an industrial estate with no access to public transport.
