What you’ll do
- Monitoring and managing the Hive system to ensure timely completion of all portering jobs
- Allocating work and responsibilities to portering staff, ensuring proper use and return of handheld devices
- Coordinating staff training, including moving and handling, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations
- Managing staff scheduling, including annual leave, sickness absence, and conducting performance appraisals
- Communicating effectively with healthcare and support staff to resolve issues and coordinate portering services
- Ensuring all portering duties are performed in line with Trust policies, including incident reporting and compliance
- Providing emergency response coordination during incidents such as cardiac arrests, fires, and other critical situations
What you bring
- Good communication skills to enable communication with colleagues, patients and clients regarding on job duties
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Good level of customer care
- Experience of working in a healthcare environment (desirable)
- Good understanding of health and safety and manual handling practices
- Ability to respond constructively and professionally to unpredictable situations
- Attend mandatory induction and health and safety related training and all other required training
