Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer (Electrical Bias) – CNC Machines

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer (Electrical Bias) to join a well-established and growing engineering manufacturer based in Coventry.
Operating within a specialist heavy manufacturing environment, our client supplies engineered products into a variety of industrial sectors and continues to invest heavily in UK operations and production capability. This is a varied, hands‑on role supporting a broad range of machinery and equipment within a fast‑paced manufacturing setting.
The successful candidate will join a close‑knit engineering team and take ownership of both planned and reactive maintenance activities across the site.
The Role
This role is heavily focused on maintaining production equipment, with approximately 90% machinery maintenance and 10% facilities support.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) activities across site machinery
- Respond to machine breakdowns and minimise downtime
- Diagnose electrical and mechanical faults
- Fault find on motors, drives, sensors and control systems
- Maintain hydraulic and pneumatic equipment
- Support continuous improvement and reliability initiatives
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation
- Assist with minor facilities maintenance when required
- Work independently and effectively prioritise workload
Experience Required
Essential
- NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering or Maintenance Engineering
- Qualified electrical maintenance background
- Previous manufacturing maintenance experience
- Strong CNC machinery experience
- Multi‑skilled maintenance capability (electrical and mechanical)
- Experience with hydraulics and pneumatics
- Strong fault‑finding skills
- Ability to work autonomously
Desirable
- PLC fault‑finding experience
- Heavy engineering or machining environment background
- Facilities maintenance experience
- Continuous improvement mindset
