Background of the Department/Role

Canterbury Christ Church University is undergoing significant digital transformation. As part of the Digital Products team, the Product Manager will lead the development and continuous improvement of digital products that support institutional priorities and enhance the experience of students and staff.

Responsibilities

  • Own the day‑to‑day development, performance and continuous improvement of one or more digital products, ensuring they are reliable, secure, compliant, and deliver measurable value to the organisation.
  • Translate strategic priorities and user needs into actionable delivery plans and product backlogs.
  • Lead agile delivery activities, oversee product enhancements and operational performance, and ensure all changes align with architectural, security and governance standards.
  • Support benefits realisation, user adoption and continuous service improvement across the product lifecycle.

Qualifications

  • Experienced product management professional with a strong understanding of agile delivery approaches and digital product management practices.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, prioritisation and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary teams and supplier relationships.
  • Strong organisational, communication and leadership skills.
  • Desirable: Experience within higher education or managing complex multi‑supplier products within large organisations.

How will you work?

We are committed to supporting flexible methods of working wherever possible. The role is based in Canterbury with a flexible and connected approach. Campus attendance will vary depending on delivery requirements, stakeholder engagement, collaboration and operational needs.

Location

Canterbury (working location flexible, with campus attendance as required).
