A specialist controls and automation engineering company based in Telford is seeking a talented Engineer to join their Test & Validation team. Working in close partnership with customers worldwide, you will apply advanced control techniques to solve complex engineering challenges across the full commissioning lifecycle from software development through to on-site sign-off.

Key ResponsibilitiesPLC programming using Allen Bradley Rockwell and Siemens S7/TIA Portal writing, developing and structuring codeDevelopment of ladder logic, statement list and function block programsConfiguration of system communications: EtherNet/IP, Modbus and ProfibusSet-up and commissioning of AC/DC drives and invertersApplication of PID control for flow, level, pressure, temperature and humidity systemsPerformance of hardware and software testing and validationOn-site commissioning of new systems at UK and international customer locationsDelivery of customer training on commissioned systemsDevelopment of Robot and PLC software as requiredRemote customer support fault finding and diagnosticsAdherence to Risk Assessment procedures and Health & Safety requirements
Key Skills & Experience Proven PLC programming experience Allen Bradley / Rockwell as a minimum (essential)PLC/SCADA system design xwzovoh and developmentSystems, software and hardware development backgroundExperience commissioning automated systems in industrial or manufacturing environmentsConfident communicator, able to represent the business to customers at a high standardSelf-motivated, accountable and keen to take responsibility
DesirableFamiliarity with Ignition SCADA systemsExperience with Robot software development
QualificationsBEng or MEng in Electrical, Electronics or Mechatronics (preferred)BTEC with significant controls engineering experience will be considered
