Employment Tax Director London (Hybrid)

Ready to step out of the traditional model and actually build something? We are a fast‑growing, boutique tax advisory firm shaking up the way tax is delivered.

No legacy constraints. No unnecessary hierarchy. Just high‑quality, commercially focused advice and the opportunity to genuinely shape a practice.

Why This Role Is Different

  • Build, don't inherit – shape the direction of the Employment Tax practice
  • No internal barriers – focus on delivering the right advice, not navigating conflicts
  • True leadership exposure – work directly with senior stakeholders and decision‑makers
  • Entrepreneurial culture – your ideas, network, and ambition will be backed
  • Clear route to partnership – based on impact, not tenure
  • Earning potential is massive!

The Role

This is a high‑impact leadership role combining technical excellence, team leadership, and business development.

You will:

  • Lead and grow the Employment Tax practice across the Midlands
  • Act as a trusted adviser to clients ranging from large corporates to mid‑market businesses
  • Drive business development – leveraging your network and identifying new opportunities
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high‑performing team

Deliver a broad range of employment tax services, including:

  • Employment Status / IR35
  • Salary Sacrifice and Reward Structuring (cash and non‑cash)
  • Tax Governance – policy design and process improvement
  • Travel & Sustainability initiatives
  • National Minimum Wage advisory
  • HMRC reviews and dispute support (proactive and reactive)
  • Disclosures, Benefits & Expenses compliance
  • PAYE Settlement Agreements and Forms
  • P11D
  • JRS & Furlough advisory

Who We’re Looking For

  • Proven experience in Employment Taxes, ideally within a Big 4, Top 10, or specialist advisory firm
  • Currently operating at Director level or an experienced Associate Director / Senior Manager ready to step up
  • Strong technical breadth across employment tax
  • Demonstrable experience leading teams and developing people
  • Track record of winning work and building client relationships
  • Commercial mindset – able to deliver practical, business‑focused advice
  • Background could be practice‑trained or ex‑HMRC

The Pitch

If you’re currently:

  • Feeling constrained by rigid structures or internal politics
  • Limited in your ability to build and grow a service line
  • Ready for a role with more autonomy, visibility, and upside

This is your opportunity to step into a position where:

  • You lead, not follow
  • You shape the offering, not just deliver it
  • Your success is directly tied to the growth of the business
