VANRATH are delighted to be partnering with an innovative and rapidly growing consultancy to recruit a Technical Consultant for their Bangor-based team. This is a genuinely different opportunity for someone coming from a technology, AI, digital transformation or innovation-led background who enjoys solving business problems, working directly with clients and understanding how companies use technology to improve performance.

This role is not suited to someone looking for a traditional corporate environment. Instead, it offers the opportunity to work closely with innovative businesses across technology, SaaS, engineering and commercial sectors, helping uncover how businesses are leveraging systems, software, automation and emerging technologies to drive growth and operational efficiency.

The successful candidate will join a highly collaborative and entrepreneurial team with a relaxed culture, strong autonomy and exposure to a wide variety of businesses and projects across NI, ROI and GB.

The Role

This is a client-facing consulting role combining technology, commercial analysis, stakeholder engagement and investigative project work.
You will work directly with business owners, leadership teams, developers, technical specialists and operational teams to understand how technology and innovation are being used within their organisations.
The role requires someone naturally curious, commercially aware and confident leading conversations around systems, AI, automation, software, process improvement and digital transformation.
Rather than focusing purely on technical delivery, this position is about understanding the wider business impact of technology and communicating complex projects clearly and professionally.

What You Will Do

  • Meet directly with clients across a broad range of sectors and industries
  • Lead conversations around technology, AI, systems, software development and innovation activity
  • Understand how businesses use technology to improve efficiency, scalability and commercial performance
  • Investigate technical projects, operational improvements and innovation initiatives
  • Translate complex technical discussions into clear and professional written reports
  • Build strong long-term relationships with clients and stakeholders
  • Work closely with senior leadership teams and decision-makers
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously and work to deadlines
  • Collaborate with colleagues across technical and accounting teams
  • Contribute to a positive, ambitious and entrepreneurial team culture

What's in It for You

  • £40,000-£50,000 salary depending on experience
  • Annual bonus circa £5,000
  • Quarterly bonus scheme with additional earning potential
  • Hybrid working model
  • Early finish culture
  • Relaxed, supportive and genuinely enjoyable working environment
  • Modern Bangor office with parking
  • Strong autonomy and ownership over your work
  • Exposure to highly innovative and fast-growing businesses
  • Varied and intellectually stimulating project work
  • Long-term progression within a growing consultancy
  • Full training and support provided

Requirements

  • Background within technology, AI, SaaS, digital transformation, software, innovation or consulting environments
  • Strong understanding of how businesses leverage technology and systems to improve operations and performance
  • Excellent commercial awareness and business understanding
  • Outstanding communication and client interaction skills
  • Ability to build credibility and relationships with senior stakeholders
  • Naturally inquisitive with strong analytical and investigative skills
  • Comfortable leading discussions around technical and operational projects
  • Excellent written communication and report writing ability
  • Ability to simplify complex technical concepts for wider audiences
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a genuine interest in innovation and emerging technology
  • Previous client-facing, consulting or stakeholder management experience would be highly advantageous
