Project Manager – Structures Division

FM Conway is recruiting an experienced Project Manager to join our dynamic Structures division and lead various structural refurbishment projects in London. Based at our Paddington office, this permanent, full‑time role supports the Major Frameworks team in pre‑contract stages, providing insights into buildability, health and safety, and tender programme development. The Project Manager will also coordinate briefing documents to drive design feasibility and deliver high‑quality outline designs that meet client expectations.

Duties

  • Collate, distribute and coordinate the handover of pre‑tender information to the construction team.
  • Provide up‑to‑date budget and programming information at all key project stages.
  • Manage, coordinate, review and ensure buildability of designs.
  • Set up projects correctly with appropriate resources (plant, labour, materials and subcontractors) and maintain works in accordance with the Structures Works package.
  • Coordinate with the project team to ensure all road space applications, permits and approvals are in place and maintained throughout the works duration.
  • Review and ensure compliance with subcontractor pre‑start meetings, minutes and documentation prior to commencement on site.
  • Draft, coordinate and review subcontract contract documents with the project Quantity Surveyor and internal commercial/contract team.

Skills and Experience

We are looking for a driven Project Manager with proven expertise in structural engineering, bridge refurbishments and highways projects. Essential qualifications and experience include:

  • A degree‑level qualification or equivalent (NVQ Level 6, HNC, HND in a construction‑related field).
  • Outstanding resource planning, cost and value management, stakeholder engagement and design management skills.
  • Strong background in NEC/JCT contracts and experience leading client‑facing projects.
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across FM Conway locations.
