This is a hybrid working role with flexibility to work both virtually and from our Birmingham office.
Aon is in the business of better decisions
At Aon, we shape decisions for the better to protect and enrich the lives of people around the world.
As an organization, we are united through trust as one inclusive, diverse team, and we are passionate about helping our colleagues and clients succeed.
What the day will look like
As a Senior Investment Consultant, you will own key client relationships and deliver advice to asset owners (including DB pension schemes, endowments, charities, and other institutional clients). Given the breadth of capability at Aon, you will be supported by a team of dedicated client-facing colleagues as well as expertise from our many specialist teams such as risk & modelling, investment manager research, asset allocation, and more.
Your day-to-day focus will include:
Establishing relationships with clients to understand and solve the challenges they face.
Driving business results through efficient delivery of client service and connecting and working with colleagues across Aonu2019s specialist teams.
Finding opportunities to innovate and drive efficiency.
Helping to develop junior colleagues into future consultants.
Promoting an inclusive culture across Aon.
Support peers to bring the best ideas to clients, ensuring the team is aware of the latest ideas and solutions and actively considers their appropriateness for clients.
How this opportunity is different
At Aon, the opportunity is much wider than just the local consulting team. Youu2019ll quickly build a network across different offices, business areas and Aon teams, working with a variety of clients. With a persistently developing investment backdrop, we quickly allocate teams and dedicate resource to respond to market developments, providing a vast array of opportunities for consultants to specialise and create their own role within the business. A great example is the rapid development and growth of our OCIO capability over recent years as well as growth in the Other Asset Owner space as part of our strategy to diversify our client base.
Aon has a wealth of market-leading specialists prepared to support you in your role, producing thought-provoking content and assisting with the delivery of customized advice to clients. Continued investment in our infrastructure and systems that support our 50,000 strong global workforce ensures you can efficiently manage your time to drive value and business results.
There is a strong focus on sharing of ideas and working as a team within the UK investment team and more broadly across Aon. During each week there are multiple department wide video conference calls keeping consultants up to date on the latest business results, ideas from specialist teams and opportunities for colleagues to put themselves forward to support new initiatives.
Skills and experience that will lead to success
Weu2019re looking for individuals with:
Knowledge of investment markets, with experience of building relationships and providing advice to asset owners. You understand their needs and deliver solutions tailored to them.
Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to distil complex information for clients.
Ability to lead and motivate junior colleagues, delegate effectively, and empower others through development opportunities.
A desire for new challenges.
