Gas Planner
Location: Banbury covering the Midlands
Salary: £34,400 – £36,210 per year
Working hours: 40 hours per week Monday to Friday 08:00-16:30
This role sits within the Gas Operation Team – Planning Gas Service and Repairs, working closely with planners, administrators, and Gas Service Delivery Managers. As a gas planner, you will coordinate and schedule gas works, ensuring engineers have efficient workloads and that customer appointments are managed effectively. You’ll also help ensure compliance within the planning process and contribute to ongoing improvements that support the department’s objectives and evolving commercial service requirements. By working collaboratively with both office and field colleagues, the role helps maintain consistent, high quality operational performance.
Responsibilities
- Deliver high quality, consistent services scheduling and programming gas servicing and repairs across Scotland ensuring compliance targets are met.
- Respond positively to complaints and breakdowns in service delivery to meet customer expectations in accordance with contract and service specifications, effectively communicating progress and outcomes to the customer.
- Manage relationships with internal and external customers, identifying any shortfalls in service delivery and ensuring they are dealt with appropriately.
- Maintain effective filing systems, database records and processes that enable accurate recording and timely provision of information, ensuring they are user friendly and accessible.
- Assist in the production of quality statistical information on key performance indicators such as satisfaction levels and response times to assist managers in target setting, performance monitoring, and implementing improvements.
Qualifications & Skills
- Experience of using multiple systems and processes to effectively schedule a field workforce.
- Working knowledge of relevant regulations, legislation and good practice.
- NVQ2 in Customer Service or Business Administration (or similar).
- Ability to extract and interpret data from a number of sources.
