Cluster Operations Leader, ADC Data Center Ops

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a seasoned leader to join the Data Center Community organization as a Cluster Operations Leader (COL). The COL will manage operations across data centers, ensuring safety, security, availability, capacity, and cost targets are met.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain data center mechanical, electrical, and controls systems, including preventive, corrective, emergency maintenance, and change management.
• Oversee teams responsible for installation, repair, and decommissioning of data center hardware and network devices.
• Lead, manage, coach, and develop the cluster operations management teams.
• Manage performance of key vendors and maintenance vendors in line with management goals.
• Execute the infrastructure operations support component of new cluster launches, new data center launches, and existing data center expansions.
• Propose and ensure compliance with operational performance goals related to safety, security, availability, capacity, people/ID&E, and cost.
• Support physical security safeguarding of personnel, assets, and customer data.
• Manage operations budgeting and capital expenditures in line with management targets.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of operational processes, procedures, methods, and tools, including incident/event response, management, recovery, and resolution.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of management experience.
• Experience hiring, developing, and managing high-performing technical teams.
• 5+ years of leading a global or regional team.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience owning the operation of a mission-critical team or product.
• Experience with large-scale technical operations or large-scale compute farms.
• Experience with process improvement techniques such as Kaizen, Lean Manufacturing, or Six Sigma.
