Head of Maths – Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the Maths department as an outstanding Head of Maths
  • As Head of Maths, ensure high-quality teaching and learning across all key stages
  • Develop and implement a strong curriculum strategy as Head of Maths
  • Use data effectively in your role as Head of Maths to raise attainment and progress
  • Support, coach, and develop teaching staff within the department as Head of Maths
  • Contribute to whole-school leadership initiatives in your capacity as Head of Maths

Head of Maths – The Ideal Candidate

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Experience teaching Mathematics at secondary level (KS3–KS5 desirable)
  • Proven track record as a successful Head of Maths or aspiring Head of Maths
  • Strong leadership and organisational skills required for a Head of Maths role
  • Passion for delivering excellence in education as a Head of Maths
  • Ability to motivate and inspire students and staff as an effective Head of Maths
