About the Role
At Connect Plus Services, we manage and maintain the strategic infrastructure of the M25 motorway network. Working in partnership with National Highways and Connect Plus, our team safeguards this busy network for millions of road users. We are looking for a Structures Asset Engineer to join our Asset Management Office and work across a portfolio of over 2,500 structures, from small span assets to major structures such as the QEII Bridge at the Dartford River Crossing.
In this role, you will support the development and implementation of whole lifecycle asset management strategies for the M25 DBFO contract. Responsibilities include maintaining asset management systems, reviewing condition data, supporting bridge inspections, prioritising renewal and maintenance interventions, and contributing to annual, five-year and thirty-year asset plans.
Key tasks include whole life cost analysis and optimisation, improving asset performance, collaborating with internal teams—Asset Investment, Technical, Design, Delivery and Maintenance—and external stakeholders such as National Highways. You will also support incident response activities and ensure compliance with relevant standards, legislation and contract requirements.
What You'll Be Doing
Requirements:– Degree-qualified engineer or equivalent with strong interest in highway structures asset management.– Understanding of bridge inspection and maintenance activities and relevant standards (DMRB, SHW) and road restraint systems.– Goal of a professional qualification such as MICE, MIAM or MIStructE.– Experience with asset management systems and a highways environment, preferably on the Strategic Road Network or with National Highways.– Strong analytical skills and proficiency in Microsoft Excel; ability to manage and interpret data for decision making.– Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills, with the ability to work independently or as part of a broader team.– Structured, methodical approach to planning, organising work across short, medium and long-terms.– Full UK driving licence is required for this role.
