Your role

The Supply Chain Planner will be responsible for providing tactical Supply Chain support for Elanco External Manufacturing. The role is responsible for creating and maintaining production plans with contract manufacturers. This role champions Supply Chain standard processes and has the responsibility of ensuring the production schedule is aligned with market requirements. It ensures accurate planning in SAP, tracks and manages KPIs, manages inventory of materials and products, provides timely communication on supply status and ensures material is available for shipment to Elanco markets in time with requirements. The position reports directly to the EEM SC Director with a dotted line to Operations Director.

Your responsibilities

  • Manage production planning cycles in SAP (PPDS) and align demand with capacity at external manufacturers
  • Review market requirements with supply planning teams to ensure service and inventory targets are met
  • Generate and maintain rolling production plans and support long-term capacity planning
  • Partner with internal teams and contract manufacturers to ensure schedules are realistic and achievable
  • Create and manage purchase orders, track deliveries and maintain accurate system data
  • Follow up with contract manufacturers on open orders and delivery timelines
  • Support invoicing, goods receipts and issue resolution across SAP/Ariba
  • Act as a key contact for internal teams to ensure alignment on deliveries and logistics
  • Monitor inventory levels across materials and finished goods
  • Identify risks (expiry, slow-moving stock, losses) and propose mitigation actions
  • Support inventory reconciliations and physical counts at external manufacturing sites
  • Help manage write-offs and stock adjustments when required
  • Maintain accurate master data (lead times, costs, MOQ, safety stock) in SAP
  • Support vendor setup and updates across internal systems
  • Ensure data integrity and support reporting and planning processes
  • Track key supply chain KPIs (on-time delivery, stock levels, losses, etc.)
  • Support supply review/R&OP meetings and ensure follow-up on actions
  • Assist with deviations, change controls and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Build strong working relationships with internal teams and external partners

What You Need to Succeed (minimum qualifications)

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in lieu of the degree and 2+ years’ experience in supply chain management
  • Ability to build collaborative relationships with areas inside and outside of Elanco
  • Production planning experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
  • Advanced English skills (spoken and written)
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing

What will give you a competitive edge (preferred qualifications)

  • SAP competency (MRP, PPDS, IBP, Ariba)
  • APICS CPIM or equivalent supply chain certification
  • Oral and written communication/interpersonal interaction skills
  • Knowledge of supply chain tools and business processes
  • Demonstrated ability to negotiate effectively
  • Experience interfacing with various manufacturing functional groups, such as production, logistics, quality control, quality assurance, and technical services
  • Logistics/Inventory experience
  • Knowledge of Power BI and other report/dashboard creation tools to support the operation
  • Excellent analytical skills

Additional Information

  • Overnight travel may be required (5-10%)
  • Location: Hybrid – 30 days per quarter on-site
