Overview

Shape mission‑critical outcomes in defence, aerospace and engineering by leading high‑impact commercial activity within Babcock’s Mission Systems business. Your work protects people and national infrastructure and drives tangible value for society.

Responsibilities

• Manage contracts across the lifecycle, driving negotiations, pricing, and customer‑focused commercial solutions.
• Provide contract management and governance, ensuring robust commercial control and compliance across a range of agreements.
• Lead negotiations and pricing activities to support organic growth and new opportunities.
• Identify and implement pragmatic commercial solutions that balance risk and reward for Babcock and customers.
• Execute commercial strategies in partnership with programme and functional leaders.
• Act as the senior commercial point of contact, building strong relationships and providing timely advice to internal teams and external customers.

Essential Experience

• Proven leadership of end‑to‑end contract management in complex, matrix organisations.
• Strong commercial acumen with the ability to spot opportunities for innovation and value creation.
• Experience creating proposals for organic growth and new bids.
• Resilience under pressure and ability to meet mission‑critical deadlines.
• Excellent relationship‑building and stakeholder management at senior levels.

Qualifications

• Essential: Degree‑qualified (or equivalent) in Business, Law, Engineering, Accountancy, or similar.
• Preferred: Professional development or membership with WCC, CIPS/MCIPS, or a postgraduate certificate in Commercial Management.

Security Clearance

The successful candidate must achieve and maintain Standard (BPSS) / Security Check (SC) clearance. National security clearance and trade‑control restrictions apply.
