Overview
Flexible working is offered: flexitime, part‑time, full‑time, job share, and compressed hours. The role requires a minimum of three days per week in the office with the option to work from home one to two days per week, and occasional travel to other locations if needed.
Responsibilities
- Provide a responsive, efficient, and professional procurement service in line with commercial policy.
- Assist the delivery of goods and services, ensuring projects are delivered on time and meet requirements.
- Work closely with customers at all levels, supporting the Associate Commercial Lead and various customer‑facing teams.
- Manage relationships, develop commercial solutions, and agree future pipeline prioritisation within category teams across Technology, Estates, People, Professional Services, and Supply Chain Security.
- Support commercial delivery in roles such as low‑value procurements, policy, audit, and management information.
- Keep internal and external partners informed with status updates on procurement projects.
- Create and manage contracts, monitor performance, and ensure key performance indicators are met.
- Identify substantial cost savings and value‑added interventions from tendering to contract implementation.
- Task‑manage a small team, build their capabilities, and enhance team impact through continuous improvement of working practices.
Qualifications
- British citizenship or dual British nationality.
- Highest security clearance – Developed Vetting (DV).
- Experience in contract management, sourcing, commercial policy and assurance, supply chain, or low‑value procurement and invoicing.
- Experience managing suppliers, purchasing, bill management, or drafting and managing contracts.
- Knowledge of category management techniques that deliver cash‑releasing savings and total cost reductions.
- Strong commercial acumen, customer focus, and proven ability to build rapport and robust working relationships.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to prioritise and drive commercial workstreams.
- Where possible, experience with AI or Cloud‑enabled services, or using AI/Cloud platforms in commercial delivery.
- Professional commercial qualification such as CIPS Level 4 (preferred).
