MCS Group is partnering with a leading software and services provider within financial services to recruit a Data Analyst to join a high‑profile team. This role offers an excellent opportunity for someone with strong analytics skills who enjoys working directly with clients, solving complex data challenges and delivering high‑quality solutions in a fast‑paced, customer‑focused environment. The business works with large multinational organisations and continues to grow through innovative technology and strong client partnerships. You will play a key role in helping customers get the most value from their data while supporting successful project delivery across a range of client engagements.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with clients to understand business requirements and data challenges.
- Lead discovery sessions to gather requirements and understand client structures and processes.
- Deliver analytics and reporting solutions using SQL and Power BI.
- Analyse complex datasets to identify trends, issues and underlying data structures.
- Define data models, hierarchies and relationships to support reporting and analytics.
- Import, transform and interrogate data from multiple client systems.
- Support workflow setup and solution builds using SQL.
- Manage multiple client projects and priorities simultaneously.
- Collaborate closely with Project Managers and wider delivery teams.
- Support delivery planning, estimation and scope discussions.
- Challenge unclear requirements and help clients shape effective solutions.
- Act as the key point of contact for client queries and delivery issues.
- Support solution demonstrations, testing and occasional pre‑sales activity.
- Promote best practice across data analysis and delivery processes.
What We’re Looking For
- Strong experience working with SQL and Power BI.
- Previous experience in a client‑facing data, consulting, implementation or B2B delivery role.
- Strong understanding of data modelling concepts including entities and relationships, hierarchies and dimensional modelling.
- Experience working with complex or poorly structured datasets.
- Ability to communicate confidently with stakeholders and clients at all levels.
- Strong problem‑solving skills with a consultative approach.
- Comfortable managing multiple projects and deadlines.
- Ability to ask the right questions and challenge assumptions constructively.
- A pragmatic and solutions‑focused mindset.
Salary
Up to £60,000 plus benefits.
