Imaging Information Systems Superintendent
Applications are invited for the position of Imaging Information Systems Superintendent at University Hospitals of Derby and Burton NHS Foundation Trust.
This is a professional Health and Care Professions Council registered Radiographer role to be an integral member of the Imaging Information Systems Team to support the successful operation of the Imaging Information systems within Radiology (for example: PACS, RIS, voice recognition, IEP, etc.) and links with EPR within Imaging, throughout the Trust and wider Health Community.
Working under the Imaging Information Systems Manager, the post holder will be responsible for monitoring the RIS/PACS/EPR systems and ensuring that the systems are available to users hospital and community-wide in conjunction with third‑party service providers. The post holder will also support future Radiology IT projects and developments and be part of the implementation, RIS/EPR/PACS training and ongoing support team.
The post holder will work within the University Hospital of Derby & Burton Imaging department across all sites providing service and support and excellent links between Imaging & IT services.
Main duties of the job
The Imaging Information Systems Superintendent will work closely with Imaging and IT teams as part of the inter‑professional team with other disciplines to support high-quality, reliable and robust Imaging IT systems.
Working in close collaboration with the IT departmental team and third‑party vendors relative to area of expertise.
To be an active member of the Imaging Management operational team, assisting the Imaging Information Systems Manager to provide management support of Imaging IT systems across UHDB sites and staff members of the Imaging Information Systems Team.

Person Specification
Qualifications
- Significant training and experience in Radiology Information Systems (e.g. RIS, PACS, Voice Recognition, IEP)
- Portfolio of CPD to specialist area, demonstrating continuous personal and professional development
- Leadership and/or communication training
- Postgraduate education in other areas
- Management experience
- Experience within acute care
Knowledge
- Underpinning knowledge of Imaging Information systems
- Leadership and workforce development
- Up-to-date breadth and knowledge of radiographic practice
- Proven organisational & problem solving skills
- PG Certificate in Radiographic Education or equivalent
Experience
- Demonstration of high standards of technical skills
- Significant experience & expertise in Imaging Information Systems and software
- Experience and enthusiasm for sharing knowledge, experience and for promoting quality and good governance
Skills and Ability
- High level verbal and written communication skills demonstrating empathy, influence, negotiation, brevity and clarity
- Leadership skills supporting service delivery, guiding and leading junior staff to meet quality standards and targets
- High level of experience within specialist area, i.e. Radiology Information Systems
