Volunteer with West Cumbria Rivers Trust. To keep tabs on our work and how successful projects have been we run various different monitoring and surveying programmes that we sometimes need volunteer help with. This can be anything from helping to download time lapse footage, to downloading water-level loggers, to helping to survey stretches of river for invasive non-native species.
Species Officer
The Species Officer will lead a new project starting work on the control of American Mink, leading to a reintroduction of Water Vole. The Species Officer will also take over running the juvenile fish and White Clawed Crayfish monitoring. They are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic person to join the team.
Project Officer
The Project Officer will be the focal point for the Trust’s work on woodland creation and tree planting. They will develop projects and work closely with other organisations active in woodland creation to drive a strategic approach to riparian woodland creation in the Lune catchment.
