Our client is a well-established, independent engineering consultancy with a strong presence across the North West. They specialise in delivering infrastructure and drainage solutions for residential and mixed-use developments, working closely with housebuilders, developers, and planning consultants. Their projects range from small bespoke developments through to large multi-phase residential schemes, with a strong focus on practical, buildable design.

The Role

They are looking to appoint a Senior Infrastructure / Drainage Engineer to support the delivery of a growing pipeline of development-led projects. This is a hands-on role where you’ll take ownership of design work, manage projects, and contribute to client relationships.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design of drainage and infrastructure for residential developments
  • Preparation of:
    • Flood Risk Assessments (FRAs)
    • Drainage Strategies
    • Earthworks and levels design
  • Liaison with statutory bodies (e.g. local authorities, water companies)
  • Support planning applications and technical approvals (S104, S38, S278)
  • Manage projects and coordinate with internal/external teams
  • Mentor junior engineers

What They’re Looking For

  • Strong experience in infrastructure/drainage design (consultancy background)
  • Proficiency with MicroDrainage / InfoDrainage and AutoCAD/Civil 3D
  • Experience working on residential development schemes
  • Good understanding of UK standards and approval processes
  • Ability to manage projects and communicate with clients
