Sherwood Forest Hospitals are seeking a dedicated Senior Osteoporosis Nurse/AHP to join our dynamic team in delivering high-quality patient care within the field of Osteoporosis management and bone health.
The successful candidate will play an essential role in supporting the osteoporosis nurse specialists, while also performing and analysing Dual Energy X-ray Absorptiometry (DEXA) scans and contributing to the overall management of patients at risk of osteoporosis.
You will assist in assessing bone health, providing crucial diagnostic information, and ensuring appropriate patient care and follow-up.
Key Responsibilities
- Support osteoporosis nurse specialists in clinical care delivery.
- Operate and analyse DEXA scans.
- Collect and interpret bone health data.
- Provide patient education and discharge planning.
- Maintain accurate patient records and reports.
Person Specification
Knowledge Requirements
- Completed Royal Osteoporosis Society Bone Densitometry Course or training equivalent.
- Well-developed communication and time-management skills.
- Organisational and interpersonal skills.
- Self-motivation, reliability and resourcefulness.
- Relevant knowledge in Osteoporosis.
Qualifications / Academic / Professional
- First-level registered nurse.
- Experience working independently.
- Minimum 3 years post-registration.
Experience
- Experience in bone densitometry / osteoporosis practice.
