Role Overview
This post, beginning September 2026, offers an exciting opportunity to deliver psychological services within the Moray-based Integrated Drug & Alcohol Service. The successful applicant will be an experienced Applied Psychologist supporting the continued development of specialist psychological services in the Moray Integrated Drug and Alcohol Service, helping to implement psychological and trauma‑informed care for adults with problematic drug and/or alcohol use and co‑occurring mental‑health difficulties.
Responsibilities
- Provide specialist psychological support for adults presenting with problematic drug and/or alcohol use and co‑occurring mental‑health difficulties.
- Deliver evidence‑based, highly specialist interventions to a population with complex needs and challenges.
- Work as a member of the multidisciplinary team within the Moray Integrated Drug & Alcohol Service, collaborating with the Consultant Clinical Psychologist and the Consultant Professional Lead.
- Develop interventions and training packages at a strategic level and support others in delivering evidence‑based psychological interventions.
- Engage in teaching activities and clinical placements for trainee psychologists through the NHS Grampian – University of Edinburgh partnership.
Qualifications
- HCPC‑recognised post‑graduate (Doctorate) qualification in Clinical or Counselling Psychology.
- Registered Clinical or Counselling Psychologist with the HCPC.
- Demonstrated experience working in multi‑disciplinary teams offering highly specialist psychological therapies to patients with complex mental‑health presentations, preferably within the NHS.
- Experience in the area of drug and alcohol use is essential.
