We’re recruiting an experienced Advanced Practitioner to join a Looked After Children (LAC) Team, offering a great opportunity to combine hands‑on casework with leadership and mentoring responsibilities.

The Role
As an Advanced Practitioner, you’ll play a key role in supporting children in care, ensuring they receive consistent, high‑quality support and positive outcomes.
You’ll also act as a practice lead within the team, offering guidance to less experienced social workers while managing a complex caseload.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a caseload of Looked After Children
- Lead on complex cases and care planning
- Support permanency planning, including long‑term placements and adoption pathways
- Provide mentoring and guidance to junior staff
- Contribute to quality assurance and best practice development
- Work closely with carers, families, and multi‑agency partners
- Attend and lead reviews, strategy meetings, and case conferences
- Ensure accurate and timely case recording
What we’re looking for
- Qualified Social Worker
- Significant experience within Looked After Children / Children in Care teams
- Strong knowledge of safeguarding and care planning legislation
- Experience supporting or mentoring other Social Workers
- Ability to manage complex cases with confidence
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
