Outpatient Booking Officer

Join King’s Mill Hospital as an Outpatient Booking Officer. You will be the linchpin of our outpatient services, ensuring smooth and efficient scheduling for our patients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Book and cancel outpatient clinic appointments efficiently and effectively.
  • Monitor the timely sending of essential documents to patients and ensure correct documentation is received.
  • Facilitate appointments for patients discharged from IPT ward discharges and ICRs.
  • Maximise utilisation of all clinic slots to ensure the best possible patient care.
  • Collaborate closely with the BSU and consultants to ensure patients are booked in a timely manner.
  • Regularly update and maintain mandatory training to ensure the highest quality of service delivery.
  • Offer support to the team whenever necessary, fostering a collaborative and positive work environment.
  • Register ASI dummy referrals on Care Flow, paying particular attention to RTT pathways.

Person Specification

Knowledge

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Outlook and related packages.
  • Effective communication with stakeholders at various levels.
  • Evidence of teamwork.
  • Ability to work under pressure and prioritise tasks.
  • Time‑management skills.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to changes.
  • Knowledge of the 18‑week pathway.
  • Knowledge of Medway and NHS procedures.
  • ECDL competency.

Qualifications

  • Good standard of education.
  • Evidence of personal development.

Experience

  • Experience with outpatient services and booking processes.
  • Extensive knowledge of Medway.
  • Customer care experience.

Contractual

  • Ability to be flexible with working hours.
  • Adherence to Trust and departmental policies and procedures.
  • Ability to work in a confidential setting.
