Design Manager role in a well‑established local company within the engineering industry. You will have full responsibility for implementing a lean environment and fostering a strong team culture.
Location
Commutable from Dudley, Stourbridge, West Bromwich, Wolverhampton, Walsall.
Salary & Benefits
Salary up to £65,000, dependent on experience, plus company benefits.
Role & Responsibilities
Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you will manage a team of engineers within the design department to ensure that work meets quality standards, is completed within specified timeframes, and remains within budget. You will implement lean manufacturing processes, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives, working closely with multidisciplinary teams such as manufacturing and sales. Working hours are 7:30 am to 4 pm, Monday to Friday.
Qualifications
- Experienced Engineering Manager.
- Understanding of sheet metal design and manufacture.
- Strong people‑management and excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Proven experience of driving a positive teamwork culture and implementing continuous improvement.
