Mechanical Test Engineer (Vehicles / Engines) 6829
Location: Nailsworth
Hours:Monday to Thursday 7:30am – 4:30pm, Friday 7:30am – 2:00pm (40 hours per week) with occasional weekend work
Salary: £12.98 – £18.00 per hour (dependent on experience)
Key Responsibilities of a Mechanical Test Engineer
- Carry out vehicle testing and repair on specialist equipment
- Work with hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical systems, and engines
- Support the service and after-sales team as required
- Attend customer sites for on-site testing, installation, and calibration when required
- Collaborate effectively within a small, skilled engineering team
- Maintain high standards of workmanship, safety, and quality control
Key Skills of a Mechanical Test Engineer
Essential:
- Mechanical or electrical engineering background
- Hands-on practical experience within an engineering or workshop environment
- Strong interest in technical systems and problem-solving
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Willingness to travel occasionally to customer sites
Highly Advantageous:
- Experience working with engines
- Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems
- Understanding of specialist vehicle systems
