Job Title: Maintenance EngineerLocation: Canary Wharf, London Bridge Hospital Campus sites.Full Time: 40 hrs Per WeekWork Pattern: Start time 8.00am (Mon- to Fri) Occasional weekends cover may be requiredPermanentCompetitive + Excellent Benefits (pension, health cover, flexible benefits and excellent career development)About the Role:The Maintenance Engineer will be responsible for completing both planned preventative and reactive maintenance tasks. This includes carrying out skilled general maintenance work in all aspects of the facilities, both internal and external as well as general DIY and maintenance including basic carpentry, plumbing, replacement of tiling and flooring, painting and decorating. This will also include regular checks and assessments of consulting rooms, other clinical and public areas and performing jobs as and when they are required. This role will involve some lone working.What you’ll do:Experience in carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance on building servicesHands-on work with mechanical and electrical systems, including fault finding and repairsMaintaining equipment such as HVAC systems, pumps, motors, lighting, and distribution systemsExperience responding to breakdowns and emergency callouts in a timely mannerFault diagnosis and repair of plant and equipmentWorking with air conditioning systems (F-Gas), ventilation, and heating systemsElectrical maintenance (basic wiring, testing, lighting, 3-phase systems where applicable)Plumbing and general building maintenanceExperience with BMS (Building Management Systems) monitoring (desirable)Knowledge of Health & Safety regulations and safe systems of workExperience working with RAMS (Risk Assessments & Method Statements)Ensuring compliance with statutory inspections and standards (fire safety, pressure systems, water hygiene etc.)What you’ll bring:NVQ Level 2 or above/BTEC 2 or above/City & GuildsHealth & Safety, COSHHHealth & Safety, COSHH, Lifting and HandlingMust be GCSE level or equivalent, with passes in English and MathsCompetent in the use of Microsoft office applications with the ability to master all relevant internal systems.The role will require use an electronic system for logging/ reporting/ signing –off tasks via tabletMinimum of 2 years’ experience – ideally in healthcare environmentWhy HCA UK?Originally founded over 50 years ago by Dr Thomas Frist, HCA has gone on to become one of the world’s leading healthcare providers.
