We are delighted to be working with a highly regarded, specialist engineering consultancy to source a talented Highway Engineer to join their growing team based in Hertfordshire. Role
Joining an established and expanding highways team, you will take ownership of scheme delivery from concept through to detailed design and construction support. You will have exposure to a diverse project portfolio spanning rail, power & energy, and traditional highway infrastructure – giving you breadth of experience that is rare in a single role.
Responsibilities
Your day‑to‑day responsibilities will include:
- Producing highway engineering designs from feasibility through to detailed design stage
- Alignment design and Civil 3D modelling
- Highway drainage design and associated calculations
- Traffic signs, road markings, pavement, fencing, and VRS design
- Preparation of specifications for highway works
- Supporting construction teams and site activities as required
Qualifications
Essential Minimum of two years' post‑graduate experience in civil engineering design within the highways sector.
- Proficiency in Civil 3D and highway alignment design
- Practical experience in highway drainage design
- MEng or BEng in Civil Engineering or a related discipline
Desirable
- Exposure to a broad range of highway project types
- Experience with specialist highway design software (e.g. Infodrainage for drainage design)
- Familiarity with traffic signs & road markings, pavement, fencing, and VRS design
- Experience preparing specifications for highway works
