Civils Design Engineer – Rail
Up to £55,000 per annum

Are you a Rail Civils Design Engineer, looking for an employer where you can see your career grow?
The Company
You will be joining a well‑established organisation that has their own in‑house design function, supporting a close‑knit team that operates as an internal consultancy supporting a broad portfolio of rail infrastructure projects across the UK.
The Role
- You will be supporting a variety of high‑profile rail projects and frameworks across the UK, carrying out civil engineering design (Rail Depots, Stations, Ancillary, Lineside, Bridges, Platforms etc) to support rail systems delivery.
- You will undertake structural design calculations and assessments.
- Act as a hands‑on design engineer, contributing directly to technical output rather than purely managing.
- Ensure designs consider constructability, buildability, and practical site constraints.
About You
- Proven experience in civil design within the rail sector.
- Experience in fulfilling the role of Contractor’s Responsible Engineer or ability to fulfil the role in the future an advantage.
- Strong background in Rail civils, Structural and/or Construction design.
- Good understanding of constructability and site delivery constraints.
- Experience undertaking or supporting site surveys.
Renumeration
- Salary up to £55,000 per annum
- 25 days holiday + BH
- Matched pension scheme up to 5%
