We are offering an initial temporary contract for a period of 9 months with a view to extend or offer a permanent position for the right candidate. Pay per day is negotiable based on experience.
Location: SW2 1RW – 2 days office based.
Responsibilities
- Conduct investigations into alleged breaches of tenancy law and the Renters Rights Act, gathering evidence, interviewing parties, and assessing risk.
- Carry out visits, inspections, and interviews in line with statutory powers and procedural safeguards.
- Prepare enforcement notices, civil penalties, and case files for legal action, ensuring accuracy, proportionality, and evidential sufficiency.
- Provide authoritative tenancy rights advice to residents, landlords, and partners, ensuring clear understanding of legal duties and enforcement options.
- Identify vulnerability, safeguarding concerns, and risk indicators, making appropriate referrals.
- Work with landlords and agents to secure compliance with statutory duties.
- Review and sign off initial triage assessments, ensuring correct risk identification and statutory pathways.
Qualifications
- Experience delivering homelessness casework or similar statutory assessments, OR experience in a frontline advice, support or enforcement role with transferable skills.
- Experience preparing written decisions, letters or case notes that require clarity and accuracy.
- Experience working with residents with additional needs, including those experiencing homelessness, domestic abuse, mental ill-health or exploitation.
