Role Overview

The Business Development Manager will drive growth in the lift, escalator and moving ramp market by building relationships with new and existing customers, securing maintenance contracts and expanding our service footprints across South‑East England.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build effective relationships with existing and new customers.
  • Prospect for new customers and secure maintenance contracts to meet annual targets.
  • Lead meetings and negotiate service agreements.
  • Generate proposals and manage enquiries for service contracts.
  • Expand product knowledge and gather market and competitor information.
  • Use industry knowledge to negotiate skilfully and secure concessions.
  • Collaborate with regional service teams to retain customers.
  • Record activity through Orona’s in‑house management systems.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Customer‑focused, with a proven track record in a target‑driven environment.
  • Successful sales experience using industry knowledge and strong sales techniques.
  • Excellent listening skills and ability to summarise customer needs.
  • Self‑confidence, minimal supervision, and ability to deliver accurate, timely work.
  • Skillful negotiation in tough situations, maintaining relationships.
  • Strong communication skills and formal presentation ability.
  • Clean UK driving licence (essential).
  • Right to work in the UK (mandatory).
  • Experience within the lift or construction industry is preferable.
