We’re looking for a Land Use and Nature Delivery Partner to lead transformational change for nature as part of the development of the 8 Hills Regional Park, in the Bromsgrove district south of Birmingham.
You’ll be joining us at an exciting time: as our ambitious new strategy “People and Nature Thriving” sets out how we will restore nature at scale to create 250,000 hectares of nature-rich habitats within and beyond the National Trust landholdings across England, Wales and Northern Ireland by 2035.
Much of this work will be through working in partnership with other landowners. This role is funded by Bournville Village Trust and will have an initial focus on their land holding, which sits within the 8 Hills area.
What it's like to work here
You'll work within our internal NT Restore Nature Specialist Delivery Team, working with a variety of regional colleagues and property teams to achieve the project goals. This is a visible role, combining site visits with flexible working.
You’ll work across the 8 Hills area as part of the 8 Hills team located across the National Trust office at Hagley and Bournville Village Trust office, but with hybrid working your time will be a combination of working from our NT properties being out and about on site and working from home.
You'll have a dynamic working week and will need to travel throughout the area for meetings.
What you'll be doing
Driving habitat restoration and species recovery across the Eight Hills, with an initial focus on Bournville Village Trust’s landholding. This includes providing ecological leadership across projects and planning, and representing the National Trust in regional collaborations that support nature recovery.
Supporting farm tenants to adopt nature-positive, low-carbon, and future-ready farming approaches. This involves offering guidance, technical advice, and advocacy to enable transitions into appropriate agri-environment schemes such as CSHT and EWCO, while also shaping farm tenancy and grazing plans that deliver nature recovery at scale.
Designing and implementing monitoring plans and leading ecological assessments to ensure measurable impact, including habitat condition, biodiversity net gain (BNG), and species management outcomes. This also includes managing contracts and championing restoration programmes that create lasting, quantifiable change in partnership with farmers, landowners, and external stakeholders.
Building strong, collaborative learning partnerships with regional and national colleagues, farmers, and partner organisations to drive innovation, share best practice, and support long-term ecological recovery.
Who we're looking for
We’ll shortlist against the following criteria.
- Extensive experience in habitat restoration and nature recovery programmes, working across complex, multi-stakeholder environments.
- Credible and influential with farmers, with strong knowledge of farming systems, business viability, and grant funding opportunities.
- Deep understanding of the UK conservation landscape, agricultural policy, and evolving funding mechanisms.
- Skilled communicator who builds trust, navigates competing interests, and inspires action across diverse groups.
- Effective collaborator and mentor, bringing partners together while developing and supporting others.
- Passionate about landscape-scale nature recovery, able to translate ambitious goals into practical, high-impact delivery.
The package
The National Trust has the motto ‘For everyone, for ever’ at its heart. We’re working hard to create an inclusive culture, where everyone feels they belong. It’s important that our people reflect and represent the diversity of the communities and audiences we serve. We welcome and value difference, so when we say we’re for everyone, we want everyone to be welcome in our teams too.

- Perks at work discounts such as gym memberships, shopping discount codes, cinema discounts
